Import Foods Company initiated a large-scale tasting of modern Moldovan wines.

The Import Foods Company, with the National Office for Vine and Wine (ONVV), and with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Ukraine had a degustation of Moldovan wines from different regions from several dozen wineries took place according.

The event took place on August 10, 2020 on the summer terrace of the restaurant “Kuvshin”.

The wine industry in Moldova has undergone significant development in recent years, as evidenced by: the creation of a vine and wine register, the introduction of the PGI and PDO system based on the European model and, of course, the assessments of professionals at international competitions.

Yuriy Naumchuk, SEO of Import Foods Company, together with experts from the wine community, discussed the further prospects for the sector’s development and competitiveness of wine of Moldova in the Ukrainian market.

The President of the Moldova Sommelier Association Mihai Druta conducted the degustation.

The event was attended by Deputy Director of the “National Office of Grapes and Wine of Moldova” – Irina Bystritskaya; President and Vice-President of the Ukrainian Sommelier Association – Ivan Bachurin and Ivan Perchekliy; project manager of the largest Ukrainian e-commerce Rozetka – Olesya Poltoratskaya.

The wines selected for the tasting aroused the interest of the experts present with their brightness, originality and real gustatory extravaganza. A wide range of quality wines was presented by: large and small producers; single-varietal wines and blends; local grape varieties and European grape varieties. The guests were also able to appreciate the wines created using biodynamics.
