Import Foods Company organized a tasting of famous Spanish wines from Bodegas Murviedro.
In 1927, a major European manufacturer Swiss Schenk Group founded a subsidiary in the wine sector. The location of the winery, which is not far from Valencia, allowed to increase exports and it became the basis of the brand. Well-deserved fame for Spanish winemaking came thanks to high quality. Bodega Histórico is a repository for creating premium wines, located underground, and was founded in the ancient city of Requena. Bodegas Murviedro’s headquarters has also moved to the town of Requena since 1997, where it is today owned by the Schenk dynasty, continuing to maintain family values in business management. Today Murviedro is one of the largest wine houses in the Valencia region. Mihkel Soom, brand ambassador for Eastern Europe, tasted 10 items from the regions of Valencia, Rias Baixas, Rueda and Utiel-Requena. He set the tone: “Our style is purity and brightness!”.
Tasting notes were presented about the wines:
- light and refreshing CAVA: CAVA ARTS DE LUNA BRUT (100% Macabeo), CAVA ARTS DE LUNA BRUT ORGANIC (90% Macabeo, 10% Chardonnay), CAVA ARTS DE LUNA ORGANIC BRUT ROSE (100% Garnacha);
- white classic and rose: Murviedro CALINDA 2016 (100% Verdejo), DNA Signature TRAVITANA 2016 (100% Albarino), Murviedro ALMAMISTICA 2016 (85% Muscat, 15% Viura), Pink LOS MONTEROS ORGANIC WINE ROSE 2018;
- red aristocrats: Murviedro Colección Crianza 2016, Murviedro Colección Reserva 2015, Murviedro Cepas Viejas Bobal 2015.
